Adoption

We get a lot of messages asking how animal adoption works so we have set out the basics below to help you before you come to the centre.

We dont let any animal leave our care without a number of basic pieces of equipment in place. We ask for all the equipment to be present no matter if it is a lizard or a snake.

 

• • If set up is not being purchased from ourselves, we ask for proof to be provided when you come to adopt a reptile. This includes proof of thermostat, heating and uv lighting. If your purchasing a second hand set up off a market place, make sure you replace your uv bulb as you have no way of knowing the age of the bulb.

• • When coming to the centre, bring photos of your setup with you so we can check you have the required size viv and equipment for the species, and we are able to offer advice to help you give the best to any reptile.

• • Don’t be offended if we ask you to go home and place an item on the viv and photograph it. We see alot of set up pictures and we know when something may seem off. We are also on alot of the groups so see many pictures of set ups daily.

• • We ask you to fill a form in at the centre, transferring ownership of the species from us to you.

 

• • As we have no set fees on any of the animals, we ask for a reasonable donation to be made to the centre, this helps fund the care of the other animals and cover any vet bills we may have from the treatment of the animals.
